So Mommy, Lulu and I went to go by a fish. I picked him out all by myself. I named him Friend first, but then I changed my mind and I named him Happy Dopey Friend. I loved my fish. Mommy told me that fishies need to stay in the water, but I didn't listen. Here is Mommy with the scoop.
We went Tuesday afternoon to get Timmy a fish. We went during Daddy's lunch break so he could be there with us. We picked up a tank and Timmy picked out his fish. We talked a lot about how fish breathe water and that they can't come out of the water or they will die.
So we get home and get everything put together and then we went outside to play. A few hours later we were outside again and Alissa, our neighbor came by. It was almost 7:30. Timmy loves Alissa and he was telling her about his fish. While Alissa and I were talking, Timmy ran inside. He came back a little while longer and was trying to get Alissa's attention. When she looked down she said "Is that real?" To my shock, Timmy had the fish in his grasp and was trying to show it to Alissa.
I said in a very hurried voice, "Timmy, get that fish back in the tank or it will die!" So he quickly ran upstairs to put the fish in the tank. When I got inside and up to his room, there was water everywhere, but the fish was back in the tank. He was swimming around, but I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it. 1. I didn't know how Timmy even got it out of the tank and how much trauma that had caused, and 2. I wasn't exactly sure how long he had been out of the tank. Poor little fish.
When I told Timmy that the fish might die, he said, "But I will be so so sad without my Happy Dopey Friend!" and big tears started rolling down his cheeks. I told him we would just have to wait and see what happens.
Well, I am sad to report that Happy Dopey Friend passed away two days later. So on Thursday we cleaned out the tank, got four new goldfish (whose names change daily) for Timmy. He loves them and when we were looking at them, we aksed him, "Now what do we do with the fish?" He replied, "Leave them in the tank or they die." It was a hard lesson, but I think he learned it.
We also bought Lulu a fish too.
Love when Brad makes breakfast!
